Sarah Floyd In Action - IMAGE
Kickboxing at the Hilton hotel in Belfast took place on June 26th as over 20 ProKick fighters stepped into the ring to face opponents from all over Ireland. The bulk of the fight card was filled up with ProKick's first time fighters and although not everyone walked away with the win they so desperately wanted, the fight fans were not disappointed as each and every fighter gave it everything they had. A massive well done to all who fought on the show.
Sarah Floyd found herself in the ring with tough Galwegian fighter Deirdre Newell and although game for the fight, it just wasn't ment to be. Sarah came out of the blocks with some strong hands and pushing forward but the more experienced Newell used some superb kicking techniques and picked her punches well. After some more hard shots the referee had no choice but to call a halt to the bout in the closing seconds of the first round. A massive well done to both ladies on a gutsy performace. Floyd however was undeterred by the loss and was back in training the very next night.
