What got you interested in Kickboxing?
I wanted to get my 8 year old son involved in a sport that would teach him discipline and respect while keeping him fit and interested. I knew Mr Murray and had been to a number of Prokick shows so enrolling him in Prokick was a no brainer. I took a beginners class before he began so I could share the experience of starting a new sport with him. I’ve have never looked back. We’ve both become kickboxing mad and the club is now like a second home.

What are your future ambitions?
I’m a late starter so have to be realistic but I really want to explore the competitive side of the sport as well as the technical aspect through the belt gradings. I'd like to think I’m not over the hill yet and right now training for my first fight is my number one priority. After that if I’m able to get a few more fights under my belt by the time I’m 40 I’d be very pleased. Looking beyond the competitive aspect I’d like to progress to as high a belt as possible so I can keep the wee fella on his toes.

What are your hobbies out side kickboxing?
Between training at Prokick, work and home life I don’t have time for much else. I do like to run and have completed a couple of marathons in the last few years but to be honest any spare time I have I try to spend with my wife and kids.

Favourite Food?
Rare Steak, Diane Sauce and Saute Potatoes… Heaven on a plate (very 1980’s I know).

The Abyss

Favourite Band?
Metallica to get the blood pumping, Florence + The Machine to chill out.

What is your Occupation/Job?
Marketing Manager at Lisney’s Belfast Office. We’re a commercial property company with offices in Belfast, Dublin, Cork and London.
