It was the launch of KICKmas 2012 at the Ulster Hall in Belfast. September 12th that was exactly 24 years to the day that, Billy Murray, stunned the sport to defeat Richard Hill of the USA for the ISKA world welterweight belt, at the Ulster Hall.
BELFAST’S Gary Hamilton has landed himself another crack at reigning as a world kickboxing champion as his career enters a last-chance saloon. The 33-year-old, who held the WKN’s featherweight title for several years, and challenged the great Mohammad Samir in an epic encounter at the Ulster Hall in 2005, will return to the city’s historic fight venue in December. The news of Hamilton’s opportunity to return to the top comes exactly 24 years to the day that his coach, Billy Murray, stunned the sport to defeat Richard 'The Animal' Hill for the ISKA world welterweight belt, at the Ulster Hall.
