The trio, who train under kickboxing legend Billy Murray at his Prokick Gym in east Belfast are Cathy McAleer, the general manager of Virgin Active health club, beautician and mum Ursula Agnew and writer and poet Samantha Robb.

“They are on the cusp of greatness,” said Murray. “Each of them has earned their shot at glory through incredible dedication, talent and bloodymindedness. A poet, a beautician and a manager – that sounds like the punchline to a joke. But it’s not a joke. They have beauty, brains and brawn. They are to be feared. It’s going to be some night.”

Cathy, Ursula and Samantha took a well-earned rest from their training regime to get pampered in style at Company Haircutters of Bloomfield Avenue.

Trading uppercuts for a cut and blow-dry the three were transformed by the time Adele Robinson and her award winning cutting crew were finished - they looked knock-out gorgeous.

Tickets for the show are going like the clappers. It promises to be one of the biggest fight nights at the Ulster Hall since the great Barry McGuigan tied his boxing gloves on in 1984 and when Billy Murray took his first world titles in 1989 against the brilliant American, Richard Hill 25 years ago to the day.

Former World champion Murray, the man credited with taking kickboxing out of sawdust rooms and into arenas across Ireland, will stage this special silver jubilee event to mark the 25th anniversary of the night he became a world Professional kickboxing champion for the first time. The night will have a knockout SEVEN World championship bouts all with his own trained and managed home grown fighters from the Prokick Gym. Murray will stage and host this landmark fight show on September 13th 2014.
