Is anyone else as sore as i am at the moment, i took a few good kicks to my upper leg and its killing me now..though thats the reasoning behind learning to block such a kick, (which i didn’t do)
Still looking forward to class as usual tonight though but im gonna be a bit of a state i reckon…ah well

Well week 4, and chucked into the ring again..lol
Brilliant, everyone enjoyed it so much..ok ok i know we still have so much to learn but we all do now definatly have the urge, and the nerve to keep going…
As noticed tonight, the guys are starting to understand and watch others moves and techniques and are taking that on board..
We need to learn, and use combinations better and i need to get it into my head to block these kicks..why oh why I seem to just cushion the kick i dont know..i need these blocks to come more naturAl.
So next week its back to the floor for more understanding of our blocks and using combinations etc
Sometimes when your in the ring Mr Murray calls a move, we dont know who its meant for so we both do it…sometimes looks daft, but thats about knowing yourself and taking the initiative to move quicker than the opponent.
I really did enjoy it tonight, yes as usual apprehensive, but still enjoyed it so much..so did the class..

i can totally understand your urge on that gareth, but im sure it wont be long until your back in the ring..
Ricky theres a thing on sunday at prokick were you can have a chance to sparr with Stuart Jess, a sort of round robin thing and a good training class thrown into the bargain, its to raise funds for stuarts sponsorship, so a good cause and it will give him agood workout in training for his fight on friday.
Not sure if im going to make, but id really like to, even if just for the training, not too sure about the sparring, ive heard he hits quite hard !
But crikey who would have thought that i would even have been contemplating a sparring match with a future world champion..
Might be a good idea if you can make it ricky, though im sure you havent been relaxing, knowing you its been training everyday as usual if not slightly easier..
If someone at prokick could possible stick a wee time schedule for sunday in response it would be handy…

Tonights class was a definate new opening for me too, last week was a buzz, and like the whole class, it was more of get in there and see what we could do, so we lost our control and stamina.
so i take it you’ve now got the bug edd…
you looked a natural in the ring..
This week was totally different, the rounds were longer, which obviously made us think of our game plan so as not to burn out to soon, we also now understood that its not just about getting in there and going for it, we need to think quick on our feet, watch our opponent more, judge our own kicks and punches, defend more and move more.
a complete change for me, i felt at first as usual nervous but still looking forward to the bout and once in the ring it felt right, and not wishing to seem confident, i actually did feel really good in there which to me was a big big surprise…
when your opponent is matched and is looking for that opening also and not just wishing to brawl it becomes a good fight..
thanks to my sparring partners and the class, and of course Mr Murray…
Ricky sorry you were unable to make it tonight, but it means you will be more ready for the next one…and dave i hope the old thumb gets better soon…
Gareth, cheers for these little pointers, you pointed out something and when i corrected it, it felt right, strong and proper…and the move suddenly became an effective move…
oh by the way gareth, no more of these moves we havnt learnt yet, WE AINT BEEN SHOWN EM YET….but that little pointer shows the proper make up of a prokicker, everyone is there to help and assist one another..
Truth - Discipline - Respect
Well done guys and im sure you like me are learning more about yourselves and what you can acheive and change..
