First up a fight that is garnering lots of attention in the martial arts world. ProKick's own European Champion Cathy McAleer Vs Burntwood, England's Dani Hodges, a three time taekwondo champion. This fight is matched at 54kg, and Hodges was first on the scales weighing in at 51.5kg. Karate Kid Cathy hit the scales next weighing in at 53kg. Both fighters are looking in great condition. They faced off with Hodges staring down McAleer, this did not seem to faze Cathy in the slightest as she looked her opponent back in the eye, relaxed and with a huge smile on her face. This is set to be a fantastic fight and we look forward to seeing who is left smiling after 4 hard rounds.
Then onto the main event...Johnny "Swift" Smiths' World Title defence against Yuhei Tsuda from RISE gym in Tokyo, Japan - this fight set at 69kg. Up first was the young challenger, at 21, Tsuda looks strong and conditioned and came in at 67kg. Then onto the World Champ - confident and relaxed Smith weighed it at 68kg. Both fighters showed a lot of mutual respect, and Johnny allowed Tsuda a brief moment to have his hands on the World Title belt that he has travelled so far to try and snatch. However Smith was quick to take it back and cement his position as champion. This fight is perfectly staged to be an exciting, exhilarating and energetic affair!
