Former British and European champion Stuart Jess was dealt a bitter hand last night in training: the Saintfield Builder was laying it on thick in one of his final heavy sparring sessions, when he landed an awkward punch on his already troubled hand. X-rays feared the worst as two bones in his right hand are broken.
