At Kickmas time – there’s
no need to feel afraid… unless you are the opponent
of world Champion Gary Hamilton ahead of his massive final
defence of his featherweight title in Belfast tonight (December
17).
Hamilton came face to face with his granite hard Ukranian
opponent Ewgenij Mytyay at yesterday’s weigh-in at Belfast
City Hall and delivered a stern hands off my title message.
“It’s my final
hurrah at featherweight, my big chance to give my fans something
to celebrate for Christmas,” he said. “Ewgenij
Mytyay comes here with a big punch and bigger reputation –
but he’s going to make a long journey home disappointed.”
Hamilton
tops a bill at the second annual Ulster Hall Kickmas Box.
Joining him will be another world title holder Mohammad Samir
defending his title plus a host of local stars including Lydia
Braniff and Andrew Grimason battling for a host of European
and British titles.
The event is promoted in association
with Belfast City Council.
A limited number of tickets for the KICKmas BOX bill are still
available on the ProKick Ticket hotline: 028 9065 1074. They
cost £15-£25 or £40 for a family ticket
(two adults, two children).
