About Billy Murray
Prokick Old Website - Full of News and History Dating back 10 Years

There are many excellent gyms within the world of Kickboxing but only one can claim the unique flavour of Belfast's ProKick
. ProKick was established at the end of 1990 by Billy Murray, Ireland's most successful full contact kickboxer. Murray's tale - from bullied school boy to world champion, trainer and owner of what is now a chain of franchised gyms - is so incredible as to be almost unbelievable.

Since the name was established (initially as the title carrying the UK and Europe's first regular kickboxing series, which ran from 1990-92), the gym has helped over 3000 students. It wasn't until 1993 that ProKick gym, as we know it, was set up. As well as teaching self defence and fitness, the gym runs sessions helping weight loss or indeed gain and, most importantly, gives all who take up kickboxing added self confidence. Aside from the first and main gym on Wilgar Street in east Belfast there are gyms in Ballymena, Ballynahinch, Comber, Newtownards, Bangor, Strabane, Dungannon, Newcastle, Lisburn, Falls Leisure centre, Shankill Leisure centre and the Spirit Health Club within the Holiday Inn. You can check the clubs page for more details on the gym closest to you.
