One of Ireland's top Middleweights hits ProKick

In 2003, Northern Ireland was established as the Mecca of Kickboxing in Europe – we're just into 2004 and ProKick has a visit for Ken Horan - The WKN intercontinental champion who trained under Peter Foley from the Black Dragon group based in Galway. Ken was in Belfast for sparring with members of the the gym ahead of his next big match.

The first major WKN event of the year will see world amateur middleweight champion Ruairi ‘Boom Boom’ Burke turn professional with a clash against number one contender Ken Horan in O’Loughlin Gael’s sports Hall on February 15. Ken said, "My coach Mr, Foley called the ProKick HQ to organise some alternative sparring, we decided there's only one place to go and that's the Prokick gym. I had a great day, I was made to feel very welcome and got exactly what I needed and I am looking forward to many more trip up north in the coming weeks before my big fight with the World champion, Burke."

"This is Ruairi’s final fight as an amateur and he’s going to give it his all,” said promoter Paul Cummins. “Ruairi is world champ and Ken, who is from Galway, is the main contender. Ken has been proved unstoppable during his last few fights – his body punches are lethal. The only thing that is sure is that there will be Irish world champion come the final bell.”
