Ladies do their bit too
It’s not often the people working on a building site have
passers-by craning to catch a look at them but that’s exactly
what happened when a trio of beauties dug in to get Belfast’s
Holiday Inn ready for an upcoming all-girl kickboxing event.
The three ‘workers’ brought a touch of glamour to the
site of the new ‘Olympic’ function room as they donned
hard-hats and showed their prowess with a cement mixer and a tool-belt.
“It was the last thing I was expecting to see,” said
one delighted hotel guest. “Usually, when you pass a site
you’re trying to avoid catching a glimpse of a builder’s
backside. This was a great break from the norm.”
The three were helping making sure the development remains on schedule
for its first major show. The Ladykillers fight night on October
30 will see a dozen top class all-woman bouts. The trio, all members
of the ProKick Gym in east Belfast, will appear at the event.
“The Ladykillers is going to be the first show of its kind
in Europe and we’re all very excited,” said promoter
Billy Murray. “High class, championship action with fighters
gathered from across Ireland, the UK and Europe. We’re expecting
a full house and I’m glad to see that some of the ProKick
girls have come down to help move the building work along. The room
is well on schedule and will be ready for a brilliant night.”
