Are you up for the challenge
Former
World champion Billy Murray is inviting champions in the making
to challenge him.
But the 47-year-old isn’t looking for a fight.
He is promising to give Irish fighters, boxers, kickboxers and Thai-Boxers,
male and female, a shot at achieving their dreams.
“There are too many good young Irish fighters who are not
getting a chance to make it big,” said Murray.
“As a fight nation we are struggling to keep up with the progress
in combative sports. We were once a world leader in boxing but now
many of our fighters don’t have a figurehead to promote their
skills.
" Here is an opportunity for fighters to stop and think about
their future. Do they really have dreams and ambitions and are they
going to achieve them?
“Are they happy with their coaching, promoting and guidance?
If not, then don’t be afraid to drop into my gym or drop me
an email and kick-start your career.
I am also seeking like-minded promoters/fighters who want to travel
and expand their careers.
As a fighter/coach/promoter of almost 30 years, I have taken my
fights and fighters all over the world, to Canada, Australia, New
Zealand, USA, Japan, Thailand and all over Europe from Belfast to
Las Vegas.
Right now, I am aiming to forge reciprocal link-up fights under
the WKN banner –
The Belfast-based Prokick teams includes current
world champ Gary Hamilton and British and European title holder
Lydia Braniff, as well as the up-and-coming Andrew ‘Grip Reaper’
Grimason and a host of European fighters who I manage.“I can
promise them that with my existing network in the US, the Far East
and beyond, I can help promoters/fighters achieve their goals.”
Murray, who once promoted former world featherweight champ Wayne
McCullough, recently landed a television deal with Setanta Sports’
US channel and is in negotiations aimed at bring the massive K1
fight show to Belfast in 2006.
“If you are a fighter with real ambition, ask yourself if
you are happy. If you are convinced that you are going places where
you are now, stay there and stay focussed. If not, I can take you
where you want to go!”
Check out my website www.prokick.com for all the information you
will need to be convinced.
