Calling all couch potatoes

Natalie Deronja, ProKick member, helping the Get Fit For Summer campaignProKick Kickboxing Gym launched a Get Fit campaign for 2005 – two six-week courses that will get newcomers in shape and stir some life into couch potatoes who have got a little lazy through the festive season.
The course kicked off on Friday 7th & Tuesday 11 January at the ProKick HQ in east Belfast and will work through the fundamentals of fitness, elements of self defence and come up with a diet for those serious about getting in shape.
“It’s time to lose those extra pounds and get fit,” said Murray. “At ProKick we have a long reputation for taking everyone who comes through the doors and finding a regime that is right for them. We've trained world champions and those keen on burning off a few extra pounds. It’s a fun way to get healthy through the winter and its open to absolutely everybody. Kickboxing isn’t just about getting into a ring – it’s a great way to get in shape and stay in shape.”
Murray himself is testament to the benefits of the ProKick regime. At 47-years-old, the former world champion made a ring comeback last June and won in triumphant style in the Ulster Hall. His final bout was a fund-raiser for cancer charities.
There was also a special incentive for those who sign up to the course. The first 25 people who join were entered into a draw to receive a one-to-one coaching course from Murray himself. The winner was kitted out in complete ProKick gear – including kickboxing uniform, pads, gloves and headgear – in a package worth £500.
