Irish Kickboxing Awards

The inaugural Irish Kickboxing Awards are set for Belfast’s Holiday Inn hotel on March 5.
The glitzy black-tie event will reward the fighters, coaches, gyms and support staff who have helped the sport in Ireland grow at such an incredible rate over the past couple of years.
Amongst the awards to be handed down on the night will be male and female fighters of the year (both amateur and professional), best gym, best event, best knockout and best novice fighter. There will also be special lifetime achievement gong.
“This awards ceremony will pay tribute to the people across the island who have made Kickboxing such a powerhouse sport,” said Billy Murray, the man behind the event. “This will also mark the first time that all disparate groups and associations involved in the sport will be honoured at a single ceremony. It’s exciting and it’s historic.”
Votes will be collated over the next few weeks from coaches, fighters and gyms across Ireland. From these votes, the top three in each category will be short-listed and the public can then vote for their favourites on the new Irish Kickboxing Award website. (uploaded soon)
Organisers are promising a host of guest appearances from sports stars.
The host of the show will be a well-known celebrity and will not leave you
disappointed - but more on this and the categories later.
