'Who will be Kings of the Castle'
Prokick to hit Carrickfergus

Kickboxing’s massive recent growth in popularity has left fight fans in Carrick crying out for a taste of the action.
And now thanks to the Carrickfergus Advertiser, their prayers are being answered. On August 28, big-time kickboxing heads to the east Antrim coast as a Northern Ireland select takes on the pride of Scotland at Carrickfergus Leisure Centre.
The show is part of the ‘ProKick Next Generation’ series that has seen events for new and novice fighters held across Belfast, Derry and now Carrick. Local man Paul McCausland, a respected boxing promoter, will co-host the event.
"I’m very excited about this," said McCausland. "East Antrim has a good martial arts and boxing community which has grown at a tremendous rate over the last year. There is a vast number of kickboxing fans here crying out for live shows and I’m delighted to be able to bring the show to them.”
McCausland will be helped out at the event by four-time world champion and Ireland’s biggest kickboxing name Billy Murray.
Daivd Hall from the Carrickfergus Advertiser gets in on the action "This first 'Next Generation' event in Carrick will have over 10 amazing bouts,” he said. "These shows are always a great day out with hours of high octane action for all the family and are a fantastic way to spot the stars of the future. I'm delighted to say that we will have at least three local men on the card. And we’re working on a special appearance from world champion Gary Hamilton. Watch this space for more details on that.
