A new group of instructors earned their spurs

A new group of instructors hope to enhance the growth of kickboxing in Northern Ireland.A new group of instructors have earned their spurs, enhancing the growth of kickboxing in Northern Ireland.
Eight Prokick students, Mark Irvine, Bill Morrow, Nuala Ward, Jennifer Rainey, Fran Spence, Paul Boyd, Adrian Clarke and James Gillen, all attained honours in first aid and child protection in a Belfast City Council-run examination this week.
The new coaches, who are now enlisted by the city council, will open eight new kickboxing outlets in the province, meeting the demand for membership of the Prokick Gym franchise.
Head coach Billy Murray said: “All over Northern Ireland we are getting demand for classes. We are already based in Belfast, Newtownards, Bangor, Ballyinahinch, Ballymena, Comber, Lisburn and Magherafelt.
“We are planning to open up in Carrickfergus and Larne and west-Belfast soon. A lot of our current members travel to the Belfast gym for training but with the new list of coaches we will be bringing the training to their doorstep.”
