TALENTED Scot Alexander White is back in Belfast for some hard-grind training as he prepares for his next outing in Geneva on May 6.
The teenager, who defeated Ballysillan man Aubrey Tarr at the Ulster Hall last December, will meet Patrick Kinigamazi in a non-title fight.
Kinigamazi is an experience boxer and kickboxer who will give the little Scot a real test over five rounds.
But with former four-time world champion Billy Murray in his corner when a Northern Ireland team travels to Geneva next month, White is confident of winning.
This is the second time White has stationed himself in Belfast for intensive training with Murray and world champions Gary Hamilton, lydia Braniff and now newly crowned champion Andrew Grimasom.
“Alexander is a real talent just waiting to explode onto the scene,” said Murray.
“His coach at home, Gary Langford, is carefully planning Alexander’s future and it is a pleasure for me to be involved and to help in any way I can.
“We have more fighters in Belfast that suit Alexander’s training needs and he will get the best treatment while he’s a guest in our city.”
The 19-year-old said: “I really enjoy being in Belfast because there is no distraction from my training and there’s few better coaches in the world that Mr Murray.
“It helps to add a bit of variety to training and gain advice from another respected coach. I’m looking forward to travelling with the team to Geneva. Maybe I’ll pass for an Irishman for the day and win for Billy Murray’s gym, but of course I'll be flying the Scottish flag.”
