Dear members, the time has come to
stand up and be counted on the behalf of Kickboxing, the sport we
all love.
The ProKick management committee has decided on a course of action
to help highlight the problem that Kickboxing has with one of the
biggest newspaper group in this country, Northern Ireland. We also
feel it necessary to right the wrong that has been directed towards
former world champion Billy Murray. Read
the reason why there is no coverage
Our first plan of action is as follows:
1. We have started a written petition and our on-line petition
will follow.
2. On Friday August 18 at 4pm our Prokick members will hand over
this petition to the Belfast Telegraph along with an accompanying
letter demanding action.
3. We are calling on ProKick members and supporters to email your
letters of support to writeback@belfasttelegraph.co.uk and please
put info@prokick.com on cc or bcc. We will supply a hard copy of
these to the Telegraph when we submit the petition. We are well
aware of your letters and emails to the Belfast Telegraph not being
answered.
4. We will notify all press agencies about this petition and ask
them to turn up on the day.
Please let us know if you can make it to the petition handover
on August 18. We have already notified the relevant authorities
of our intentions, so this will be a quiet, mannered, organised
and dignified action – fitting for our sport. We will hand
the letter and petition over for the attention of the editor in
chief of the Belfast Telegraph. So
let’s vote with our feet and make our opinion heard and counted.
The ProKick gym don’t discriminate against any person on
grounds of race, sexual orientation or religious background. We
feel it is wrong and myopic of the Belfast Telegraph to discriminate
against the sport – which is loved and followed by thousands
here in Northern Ireland and millions across the world.
If any one would like to get involve with our petition
then please don't hesitate to contact us.
You can help us right now by passing this page on to a friend or
colleague. Or print the form out and
post it back to us and we will reimburse your postage.
Thanks for your time
