'The
Special Olympics Ireland start -
next week in Belfast'
The
Special Olympics Ireland start next Wednesday in Belfast –
and I’m calling on you all to get out and support the athletes.
Some 2,000 athletes with learning disabilities will compete in a
range of sports from Wednesday until Sunday, all stretching for
the ultimate goal of a place at the 2007 Special Olympics World
Summer Games, in Shanghai, China.
It’s a massive undertaking for Belfast, with more than 5,500
volunteers giving their time to make sure it goes smoothly. So have
a look at www.2006games-belfast.com to see what you can get along
to.
ProKick is delighted to play a small part in the opening torch run
ceremony next wednesday night the 21st June. A team from the gym
will be providing a demo in the grounds of City Hall as the Olympic
Torch passes through at 5.30. If you can make it, come down and
say hello.
