KICKBOXING
champion Gary Hamilton will hear a different kind of bell ringing
today – a wedding bell!
The
26-year-old will stand his ground at the City Hall in Belfast today
( Saturday 18 March )as he marries his Belfast sweetheart Andrea
McAllister, before heading off for a well-earned break in the Bahamas.
Only last Sunday Hamilton was back in the kickboxing ring, returning
to winning ways with a win over fellow Belfast-man Aubrey Tarr at
the Hilton Hotel.
But he’s met his match in Andrea, who is also a budding kickboxing
star.
The pair met at Billy Murray’s famous Prokick Gym in east-Belfast
and their head coach now reckons he’s one-up on Cilla Black.
“They’ve been trying to get weddings on Blind Date for
ages but we’ve had a few weddings through people meeting at
the Prokick
Gym,” said proud former four-time world champion Murray.
“Gary and Andrea are a great couple and she is very supportive
of his career. She is also talented fighter and will make her mark
this year.”
Blushing groom to-be Hamilton said: “I was more nervous going
into the ceremony than I would be going into the ring. I’m
used to performing in front of packed halls but even with a few
people in the City Hall I will be shaking!”
