Stuart is ready for a war

Belter Stuart Jess Stuart Jess is set for the biggest fight of his career – as he attempts to defend his British title for the first time this weekend.
To heap pressure on the young man, a Commonwealth belt is also up for grabs.
Light-welterweight Jess stunned the British Kickboxing community in June when he took the British title from the much more experienced champion Barinder Singh. The Leceister fighter had been English champion for some time and expected his defence to be easy. That was until Jess’s
smash and grab that saw him take it on point on a memorable night.
Singh asked for a rematch and this weekend he gets his wish. To get the fight on, he has put his Commonwealth title up for grabs too.
“This is going to be a tough fight for Stuart but he is so strong and has really improved after taking the British title,” said Jess’ coach, the former four time world champion Billy Murray. “Barinder thinks he has got the title won and I hope he keeps thinking like that. It was his overconfidence that cost his first time round.
“This will be tough for Stuart, make no mistake. It’s a 10 rounder and Singh is wily. But Stuart wants it bad, we’ve got him in incredible shape and I think he’ll be heading back to Northern Ireland as Commonwealth champ.”
Gary hamilton ready for another show this weekend But he will have a strong contingent of supporters and fellow fighters with him to offer support.
Chief amongst them is Gary Hamilton, the featherweight world champion and inspiration for a generation of young athletes at east Belfast’s ProKick’s Gym.
It will mark Hamilton’s second fight in a number of weeks as he attempts to get back in title contention for a punt at the heavier WKN Lightweight world crown.
