Some of the WKN's top brass The WKN European cup in Turin, Italy was an amazing success claimed Belfast's Robert Masterson - Masterson returned home full of praise for the Italian promoters.
"This was a great event, thirteen of Italy's best took on thirteen European fighters from different countries in the first WKN amateur Cup. The Italian's have set the bar for other countries to follow. The organisation of the event was great and one of the highest I've seen for a while." The Belfast kickboxing official added; "Right after the amateur event was over, the promoter staged a top class professional event which kicked into place with 8 top-class pro bouts. I'm looking forward to next years event where ever it is. I've been told that so many countries have applied to the WKN world office to stage next years event.

DUBLIN's Dylan Scally who took part in the event was stopped in the third round. The tough Dubliner got himself back in the fight after taking a full shin to the head which saw him visit the canvas for a short count in the first round - but at the end of the third round he was taking some heavy low kicks in the Thai style fight -forcing the referee to call a halt to his dream of European glory - the gutsy Dubliner will be back in action when he is part of the All-Ireland team to challenge the German's on May 19 in Hamburg.
