Re-Opens on the Shankill Rd

New members of ProKick’s newest club got a fine opening present this week, when world champion Gary Hamilton and European champion dropped by to offer some words of advice and encouragement.

The ever popular featherweight king, who heads to Russia next month to defend his title, said he was delighted to see the club up and running again.

“The Shankill club was always well attended. There were loads of talented young kickboxers there and many people who just wanted to get fit. It’s great that it is opening for business again.”

The opening marked Hamilton's last major appearance before he knuckles down at training camp to ready himself for his trip behind the Iron Curtain to defend his WKN crown.

Kickboxing in west Belfast is set for a timely boost with the news that ProKick Gym’s Shankill club now open every Thursday night and with a new club in the north west of Northern Ireland.
The Shankill class is based out of Shankill Leisure Centre which reopened on August 23 with the first class starting at 6.30.
