IN the past, it has drawn TV stars, pop idols, sporting heroes and politicians. It became one of the ‘must-attend’ nights on Northern Ireland’s sporting calendar - and after a year off, the ProKick Bash ‘N Mash awards is set for a glitzy return. The show will take place in the Hilton hotel on Saturday the 23rd February 2008.
It will honour members of the kickboxing community who have really achieved in 2007. There is a lot to look back on – Lydia Braniff’s retirement after a peerless career; new young stars like Barrie Oliver and Stuart Jess emerging; more established names like Ian Young Mark Hennessy and Gary Hamilton defending titles plus a host of other talented fighters proving why Northern Ireland is the unquestionable European powerhouse for the sport. At present, organisers are keeping the name of special guest hosts firmly under their hats, but are promising quite a treat for fight fans.
2007 was a bumper year for the sport, there will definitely be a Bash with the Mash as Promoter’s have lined up three exciting Kickboxing bouts for the awards night.
Tickets for the black tie sumptuous dinner event are priced at £40 for members of ProKick, £50 for non-members.
