Murray and team head back to school .

Pupils at Brooklands primary school in Dundonald will be fighting fit thanks to the Prokick group.

Champions from the Prokick Gym will drop by the east-Belfast school for a special training session for over 200 youngsters, with the emphasis on promoting exercise in a fun environment.

The class will be held this Thursday night in a special fund-raiser for the school - at the request of Brookland’s headmaster Mr. D. McCartney and assistant Clare Walker, who read about the Prokick’s fun day at the famous Gym in Belfast.
Every month Prokick’s young students are tested on their skill and development through games that incorporate trade moves of the kickboxing art.
“We started off the ‘Prokick Says’ fun day with the intention of taking the stress out of testing young students. We are marking them for grading without them knowing it because they are busy enjoying simple playground games. We’ve taken the age-old Simple Simon Say games and turned it into Prokick Says and the children love it. It’s their big day every month and they all complete the occasion with a reward to take home.”
Murray hopes to bring more classes into schools across Northern Ireland.
He said: “It’s not about teaching children to fight or self-defence, it’s about getting them physically active and enjoying it at the same time. The skill movements in kickboxing can quickly develop ones strength and fitness. Other elements like self-defence are part of the long-term development of a student.”
We hope to bring more classes into schools across Northern Ireland.

'it’s about getting the kids physically active and enjoying it at the same time:' Billy Murray.
