One of Europe’s biggest kickboxing promoters is in Belfast this week to finalise plans to take a team of Northern Irish kickboxer’s to a key event in Switzerland.
Carl Emery, a former world champion, ( Pictured right) met with Billy Murray, Ireland’s kickboxing lynchpin, to arrange matches for the event at Villars in the Swiss Alps.
Taking place in an exclusive ski resort it is one of the most prestigious events on the European kickboxing calendar. Following last year’s event, Murray was welcomed by the British, Irish and American ambassadors to Switzerland at an official reception in the British consulate in Geneva. It was in recognition of the cross-community achievements he has secured through the sport.
A team of eight fighters will travel from Northern Ireland to Switzerland for the December 8 show.
