Its turned into a WAR of words ahead of
Saturday's Big Fight Night

East verses South - L-R Contender Jamesy Gorman, promoter Jane Wilton from Belfast Promotions, and kickboxing king-pin Gary Hamilton are all over seen by BBB of C's general secretary for Northern Ireland, John Campbell.
THE bad feeling ahead of Saturday’s title fight between Gary Hamilton and Jamesy Gorman has intensified.
Earlier this week Gorman’s team were enraged when he was tagged a “journeyman” by Hamilton’s side. He insisted he would teach a lesson to the reigning world kickboxing champion – making the move into boxing for this Northern Ireland light-welterweight title – and prove he had the skills to be champion.
Now Hamilton has hit back insisting that not only is the east Belfast opponent a journeyman but that he is not good enough to make it in the tough arena of kickboxing – an arena Hamilton has dominated for years.
“Gary has no fear of Jamesy,” said Billy Murray, Hamilton’s coach. “When he called him a journeyman it was a statement of fact rather than abuse. His record shows that. But if he wants to ramp things up and think he’s going to force Gary to take his eye off the prize, he has another thing coming.
“Gary has been world champion for five years. You don’t become champion of the world in kickboxing and defend it for as long as he has without skill, dedication, focus, bravery and ring smarts.
“Gary has enough respect for his opponent and for boxing not to make this a silly tit for tat row. But he will be the victor come Saturday and Jamesy’s record will still tell its own story.”
The fight will take place at the Park Avenue Hotel in Belfast on Saturday. There is limited ticket availability. For details, contact Jane Wilton at Belfast Promotions on 07793838494.
