Prokick Says competition for Juniors and Beginners

It was competition time at the celebrated kickboxing school of excellence as the 10am Beginner and Yellow belt class for kids took part in a ‘Prokick Says’ fun day at the ProKick gym.
The competition was a booming success as the standard of the kickboxing mad kids increase.
Kickboxing kids from all over the city took part in the initiative that allows children to put their kickboxing skills on display in a friendly and competitive arena.

The young stars, who cannot compete in the ring until they reach the age of 15, combine the disciplines taught at the Prokick Gym in east-Belfast in an occasion packed with fun.

Prokick coaches Ryan Dougal and Alan Titmus said: “The children learning the art of kickboxing love the Prokick Says fun day. They look forward to it because it gives them an opportunity to put into practice what they learn in class.
“We wanted to give the young members an opportunity to practice, mixing competition with fun. "The idea stems from a game Mr Billy Murray invented which we all have played for many, many years at the gym, ‘Prokick Says’ is our version of Simple Simon Says. “Everyone is a winner and everyone goes home with a medal. It’s important to us at Prokick Gym that children learn about self-discipline, self-defence and grow up in a respected and disciplined environment. Our motto is Truth, Discipline and Respect.”

Follow
Follow is a racing fitness game. The children are seated in lines, Mr Murray calls out someone’s name and all the children follow that person until they’re told to go back to their lines and the last one to sit down in their original place is out.

Winners:
Yellow Belts - Kurtis McMaster, Courtney Burford and Bradley Winchester

Beginners -
Reece Morrow and
Christian Taylor

Prokick says

Kickboxing version of Simon says. Kickboxing moves are called out for the children to do; only they can’t do them unless a number is called after the move.
If they do the move without the number being called then they are out. Last one standing wins.

Winner for Beginners - Luke Kerr and Adam Bate

Yellow belt Trainees - Kristian Taylor and Rebecca Kirkpatrick

Yellow Belts -
Kurtis McMaster and Shannon McDermot

Congratulations to all the children who took part. Everyone was a winner and everyone went home with a medal.

The Prokick Says fun day for senior grades in the kids class takes place later this month at Billy Murray's Wilgar Street gym in east-Belfast on Saturday February 23rd at 11am
