Well-Fit for Sparring
Northern Ireland’s most famous kickboxing name ProKick opened up in Lurgan three months ago at the brand new ‘Well-Fit’ Training Centre. The former world professional four weight world champion, Billy Murray who officially opened the new gym, is well pleased with the progress of the Lurgan kickboxing wannabe’s. “Just last week a group from ‘Well-Fit’ Training Centre came together at the PK HQ where they were tested in a series of moves.
The kickboxing wannabes travelled from Lurgan to Belfast to take a step up the ladder of excellence taking their grades yellow belt the first level in the all action sport. Congratulations was in order to all those who passed their grading, it’s a mark of their hard work, talent and application to the sport.” The former champ added, “The full squad were invited to the Prokick gym for a special Sunday afternoon class to spar with world champion Gary Hamilton. And all of them did extremely well, they showed great promise and a hunger for the fight game. At this rate it won’t be long until we’re promoting a show in Lurgan with a full team from the area. A special thanks to the Well-Fit team and of course our Prokick instructor and WKN Irish super heavyweight champion ‘Big’ James Gillen, who is doing a fabulous job with the squad.”
