Bash 'n' Mash

The dust has barely settled on 2005 and we are hard at work polishing off plans for our annual Bash ‘n’ Mash awards night in March.

The show, which combines a fight card with a three course meal and awards ceremony, will be staged at the Hilton, Belfast. It is the first of a number of shows that will take place at the city hotel after I've forged a sponsorship agreement that was launched in December with the arrival of boxing legend Marvelous Marvin Hagler.
I am planning to bring more celebrities to the province in 2006, but Bash ‘n’ Mash will be staged to honour those who have made kickboxing one of the fastest growing sports in Ireland.
We had a great 2005 and it was topped of nicely when Marvelous Marvin Hagler dropped in to Belfast to watch Gary Hamilton challenge Mohammad Samir for the world title.
That fight was screened live all across European and will be shown in the US, Canada and the Far East. It was our second live show of the year. We also staged the first-ever kickboxing show at the Odyssey Arena last summer and that is a great achievement for any sport.
In March we will remember the people who made 2005 one of the best years in the history of the sport. It was a defining year. The Bash ‘n’ Mash will also give some new and inexperienced fighters an opportunity to mark their cards for 2006.

Tables for the three-course meal and three-fight event at the Hilton, Belfast, are strictly limited and are priced at £40 per head.
Tickets for black tie Bash ‘n’ Mash 2006 are available now, you can book by just returning an email. or forfurther details, contact the Prokick Gym on 028 90 651 074.

Last years inaugural awards night... have a look

Irish Kickboxing Awards 22-03-05
Pop Idol Darius Danesh has said he would rather spend time in Northern Ireland than at a glitzy Hollywood party.
The star made the stunning revelation after hosting the inaugural Irish Kickboxing Awards on Saturday night. He had jetted into Belfast from LA where he is set to start recording new material.
“I’ve been at Elton John’s post-Oscar bash and I can tell you, if next year these awards clashed with one of Elton’s parties, I’d choose the Awards. I’ve had such an incredible time here as I always do. I just love Northern Ireland,” he said.
