'Boot camp helps to build new City Icons'

No 'Boot Camp' tomorrow Saturday 16 June as the team trained hard all week -
Saturday morning is a day off!

ITS A HEAVY WORK LOAD FOR THE PROKICK FIGHTERSITS A HEAVY WORK LOAD!
If you thought top class professional footballers readying themselves for the World Cup had a tough training regime, spare a thought for some amateur Belfast kickboxers, our new city Icons.
England may have had it handy last night against Trinidad & Tobago but there's nothing handy about the way our latest un-sung hero's our preparing for for their next match!
Good old fashioned no- nonsense basic but hard training.
ProKick's fighters have been meeting every morning at 6.00am to pound the city streets as part of Billy’s Bootcamp – a military-like training regime readying them for an upcoming kickboxing event. And that’s aside from their regular evening training.
“We have some talented young Boys & girls here who could become a new generation of champions – we’re led out every day by Dessie McCartney, who at 59 is the oldest man in our ProKick gym another year he earns his free bus pass -and the youngest is 14 year old Ross Thompson who is at the gym first nearly every morning.
“The programme runs from Monday – Saturday and I’ve been delighted by the dedication and turnout every day, said a delighted Murray"..
And while they can’t take in the glorious early morning views of Belfast, you can. So have a look again at the City Hall - HW & Queens Bridge icons of old Belfast – framing these tough, great men – the icons of a new Belfast.

The event that Murray’s men are getting ready for takes place at the Park Avenue Hotel in Belfast on June 24. It’s a day and night double header that will see a host of young fighters compete in the afternoon and some big names – such as Gary Hamilton, Andrew Grimason and Lydia Brandiff – fight in the evening. Have a look at the fight card.

For further information and tickets and tickets to whatch some of the team in action at the Park Ave on the 24th June, contact the ProKick hotline on 028 9065 1074.
