Some useful Information for the -
Millennium Forum September 29 event.
Dear Fighter/ trainers/ managers -
Here is some useful information for the event this Saturday Sept 29 at the Millennium Forum – that hopefully helps make the event run smoothly for us all…
All fighters must have a doctor’s line from their own GP stating that you are fit to fight in a full-contact sport.
All fighters under the age of 18 must also have a signed consent note from your parent/guardian permitting you to compete.
All fighters must have a WKN licence and copy of you own insurance up to date, speak to the promoter and the kickboxing insurance can be arranaged.
Competitors Equipment needed:
Please ensure that you bring the following equipment with you on the day of the event:
Groin guard
Gum shield
Headgear
Shin guards
Kick boots - or all in one shin and boot
Gloves will be supplied on the day to ensure that both competitors wear the same size and make.
If you have any problems obtaining any of the above, please let us know now rather than on the day of the event.
28 September - Times for weigh-ins and Medicals:-
Weigh-ins and pre fight medicals will ALL commence on Friday night at 9pm in the Holiday Inn Express. Rules meeting shortly after. Official passes will be given out then, and only then.
29 September - Coach times and departures:-
2 coaches will leave from the ProKick Gym on Saturday at 2.30pm sharp
1 coach will depart from the Holiday Inn Express for fighters, trainers and officials also at 2.30pm

Event
Doors open to the public at 7pm first fight is at 7.30pm.
All fighters need to be in their changing room at 7pm ready to commence.
The show should be over by 10pm.
Fighters and officials will have refreshments at the Millennium Forum and thereafter travel back on the bus to the hotel. Buses will depart approximately 10.45pm from the Millennium Forum.

RULES AND REGULATIONS
FOR FULL-CONTACT AND KICKBOXING - OVERVIEW IN BRIEF
FULL CONTACT (KARATE & KICKBOXING)
Full Contact rules permit all types of kicks and punches including spinning or turning back fist (only in title bouts) . All target areas in this division to be above the belt only. In addition to approved boxing gloves (8oz. for 153 lbs. and under, 10 oz. gloves for all weight categories over 153 Ibs..), approved foot pads and shin guards are also mandatory. Kicking judges will count kicks for each of the two fighters. Eight kicks are mandatory per round. A knockdown or standing 8 count, is counted as a kick for both fighters. There is a half point penalty for each missed kick and disqualification for failing to meet the Mandatory Kick Rule (MKR) in any two rounds for any match of 6 rounds or less. In bouts in 7-11 rounds failing the MKR in any 3 rounds means disqualification. For a 12 round bout, if the MKR is not fulfilled in any 4 rounds, the fighter is disqualified. If a fighter fails to fulfil the MKR in any two consecutive rounds they will be disqualified. Sweeps must be to the front leg only from the outside in with the sole of the foot. Rounds are two minutes long with a one minute rest. Long Karate type pants are mandatory (no Thai shorts).
FREE STYLE - LEG KICK RULES
Free style rules follow the Full Contact format except for the following:
a). Roundhouse type kicks are allowed to the legs above the knee
b). There is no minimum kicking requirement
c). Shinguards and foot pads are optional.
d). If one fighter elects to wear footpads his opponent must wear them also
e). Thai style shorts are encouraged in this division
f). Sweeps are allowed to the inside or outside of the front or back leg
