Kickboxer Curtis Bush
World
Kickboxing Champion Curtis Bush Who fought in Belfast's Dundonald
Ice Bowl -plays Alex Hunter, as an up-and-coming kickboxer whose
fiance and father are brutally murdered by the city's cold-blooded
and sadistic crime boss, and he himself tortured and left for
dead. Discovered and nursed back to health by a wheelchair-bound
Vietnam Vet who becomes his mentor, Alex is transformed into an
avenging streetfighter - a one man vigilante and skull-cracking
killing machine known as...The Dark Angel. Using controlled fury
and a hunger for revenge to seek bloody retribution against low-life
criminal scum, Alex's ultimate target is the untouchable crime
boss. But a beautiful tabloid journalist who seeks to uncover
the true identity of The Dark Angel is hot on the trail, yet that
won't stop Alex from exacting his "eye for an eye". First, he
must enter the Arena of Death and destroy one-by-one the most
savage and deadly fighters imported from around the world by the
crime boss. It WILL be the most thrilling, bone-cracking showdown
ever!

Up
coming International Thai Boxing Event
New Zealand takes on Europe's premier champions.
New
Zealand's leading promoter Lollo Heimuli launches into the new millennium
on Friday February 18th in the year 2000 with the new generation
of New Zealand's Thai boxing stars taking on Europe's top fighters
for a wide array of international titles at Auckland's Downtown
Convention Centre.
Heading
the card is John"the Rebel" Conway taking on Scottish champion Sandy
Robinson for the Commonwealth professional super welterweight title.
The rebels last fight saw him an impressive KO victor over the Japanese
champion in early 1999. Since then he has been sharpening up his
hands on the local pro boxing circuit. His opponent Sandy Robinson
recently secured his Scottish title against the current champion
in a torrid bout.
The
semi main event is a World super heavyweight amateur Thai boxing
title featuring the Tongan Tornado Tristram "Twister" Apikatoa.
Tristam who has had great trouble finding opponents in New Zealand
since knocking out Gary Hart in the first round earlier this year
and gaining a bronze medal at the 1999 Oceania boxing championships
in Tahiti. His opponent is a big man with wraps. Scotsman Scott
"Braveheart" Docherty comes with a string of KO victories and is
a recent medallist in the 1999 World Championships in Thailand.
Both these guys weigh over 120 kilograms and have speed and skills
rarely seen in such big men. The heavyweight explosion continues
on the under card as New Zealand's newest professional Shane Wihongi
attempts to take the professional Intercontinental heavyweight title
from South Africa's Sheldon Shuztler. Sheldon tough technical fighter
who gave New Zealand's Ron Sefo an extremely close fight in 1997.
He has since gone from strength to strength beating Frenchman De
Tholomase for the title he will defend against Shane on February
the 18th. at Auckland Downtown Convention Centre.
Two
commonwealth amateur titles will also be contested on the undercard.
Super middleweight Aaron Boyes will be looking to bounce back from
his hotly disputed decision loss in Wellington against Jim Herries
with a big performance against Irelands big punching Ken Bishop.
New Zealand's Simon "Spike" Chamberlain will also fight an Irishman
in Gary Hamilton for the super welterweight commonwealth title.
Simon is a relatively unknown fighter in New Zealand who exploded
into the limelight in Thailand last year demolishing the Russian
Champion at the world championships. After that fight Simon received
huge applause from the Thai crowd which is an unusual honour indeed
for a foreign fighter in the home of Thai boxing. Simon's only loss
come in his first fight against vastly experienced Tokoroa hard
man Carl Cowley in a very close bout. Negotiations is under way
for rematches between Julie "The Jewel" Wood, Petrina "Cyclone"
Sheppard against their Australian opponents who they fought earlier
this year during the "Queens of the Ring '99"
Once
again Lollo and Balmoral Lee Gar Thai Boxing promotions have put
together a huge international fight card so don't miss this rare
opportunity to support New Zelands newest stars as they come of
age against Europe's best. If you would like more information contact
the promoter Lollo Heimuli on (09) 815 1876 or via E-mail on lgtkb@ihug.co.nz
But be fast as ticket numbers are limited and are selling fast.
