CHAMPIONSHIP
KICKBOXING MATCH TO OPEN NEW MILLENNIUM On January 15, 2000,
a kickboxing match two years in the making will finally happen.
Negotiations began two years ago with kickboxing veteran and champion
Henry "The Hitman" Nieves (32-6-2 / 17 KO) and another kickboxing
champion Luis "Bad Boy" Ruiz (16-4-0 / 12 KO) to fight for the
vacant USKBA Super Light Heavyweight World Championship Title.
In the interim, the opportunity arose to have Ruiz and John "The
Stallion" Evans fight for the title. Ruiz won the title by a close
decision. Nieves wants the title. On January 15, 2000, Nieves
will get his shot when Ruiz defends his USKBA World Title on THE
BATTLE IN THE BRONX at New York's Premier Restaurant and Sports
Club...Jimmy's Bronx Cafe. The fight card will also feature pro
kickboxers "Diesel" Dave Buglione, Peter Kaljevic, Tommy "The
Warrior" Rodriguez and Tim Lane. In addition, an action packed
amateur undercard will complete the show. This Millennium Kickboxing
Event is being arranged by Michelle Conhaim and her Winning Image
Productions promotion company and is sanctioned by the USKBA (United
States Kickboxing Association). The event is scheduled to be broadcast
by Bronxnet Cable TV and is sponsored and supported by Everlast
and Cablevision. For additional information, go to the USKBA website

KOSTUCK
EXPLODES WITH 0:15 KO WIN OVER ARNALL; UNDERCARD ACTION-PACKED
As reported by George Buse Milwaukee, WI, USA
Milwaukee
Phetnoi Gym's Richard Kostuck (IKF Intercontinental Jr. Welterweight
Champion) is a school teacher by trade, and tonight he gave Springfield,
Missouri's Alex Arnall (IKF #5 Contender) a serious lesson in
Muaythai. Kostuck put the "K" in KO as he followed a beautiful
high kick with a blazing punch to Arnall's head. Arnall crumbled
to the canvas just five seconds into the first round. Motionless
on the canvas, Arnall was counted out by Referee Al Wichgers at
the 0:15 mark.
Fortunately,
Arnall received prompt medical attention and, after sufficiently
passing a neurological exam, was able to walk under his own volition.
Although the Kostuck-Arnall main event was the shortest pro fight
of the year, the nine bout undercard was abundant with in-your-face
amateur action. The next Milwaukee event will be held at the spacious,
uptown Milwaukee County Sports Complex on February 26, 2000. Stay
tuned for more details on this and other fight cards in 2000.
Happy New Year and thank you for your support--the new millenium
will thrive with Milwaukee forging its way into the international
Muaythai spotlight! Click for

THE
1999 BATTLE INTERNATIONAL MUAY THAI & KICKBOXING EVENT (Calgary)
NOVEMBER 20TH, 1999
The
1999 Battle was sold out (1300 people) and even though there appeared
to be several empty seats in the back of the venue, over 200 people
were in standing room only around the ring witnessing the action.
As usual, Calgary's audience is very fight intelligent and they
were entertained by several full Muay Thai rules bouts. These
two bouts were close to being the 'Bouts of the Year' for 1999.
The skills demonstrated were very good and of a very high standard.
