The kickboxing world has descending on Belfast today December 1 as it gearing up for what is possibly the biggest and most ambitious kickboxing tournament ever staged in the city. No fewer than FOUR world titles are up for grabs at a special ‘KICKmas’ event, supported by Belfast City Council, at the landmark Belfast Waterfront on Monday 1 December. The KICKmas 2008 event will be a festive feast of fists and fun which is sponsored by Schwarzkopf international.
Topping the bill will be Belfast’s own Gary Hamilton, the current featherweight World WKN World Championship – Hamilton will face London’s ISKA lightweight World champion, Marty Cox Jnr. Both will compete for the WKN lightweight crown as the Belfast boy attempts to become a two-time-two-weight World champion.

Also headlining the bill are some of the countries finest amateur competitors who will compete for world honours:
WKN World Champion Ken Horan, from Galway, Belfast’s WKN British and European Champions, Mark Hennessy along with Saintfield’s (Celtic, British and European Champion) Ian Young, and (WKN British and European Champion), Stuart Jess.
The semi main events will see Patrick Kinigamazi, originally from Rwanda but now fighting out of Switzerland, Patrick will face our Celtic cousin - Scotland’s Alexander White for the WKN European Professional Featherweight Full-Contact title over 10 rounds.
Battle of the Heavyweight: KICKmas time in Belfast will also see a four man K1-style super heavyweight tournament, this is a first for Belfast fight fans.
And if that is not enough – The all-style kick & Thai-Boxing legend from France - Mohamed Samir is back for KICKmas in a non title tilt over 5 rounds with plucky Englishman Shawn Burton.
Other Up-n-Coming talent on the KICKmas card are - Corsican Cup Champion Mark Bird, from Lisburn will square-up for a British title.
What I am planning will be an organisational nightmare, a hugely costly exercise and will also put the titles of all my champions on the line. Worst case, it complete clears out the trophy cabinet. So this is not something I am going into lightly. “But Northern Ireland is ready for this. We are the power-house of European kickboxing.
